ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Grocery Manager, you're leading the Grocery team daily to achieve departmental KPI’s, make customer driven decision and support the team in delivering an outstanding customer experience. You will also be responsible for:

• Promoting and encouraging ‘best practice’ levels to create an awesome customer experience.
• Ensure Foodstuffs New World promotional and pricing programmes are adopted so that the store presents a competitive and brand consistent offer to the market at all times.
• Ensure operational delivery standards are met or exceeded including:
• Ensuring the shop is full and appealing throughout the hours of trade, and that stock levels are controlled appropriately.  Also ensuring all appropriate signage is displayed correctly and that advertised product is displayed meaningfully.
• Merchandising the department appropriately, as per the best practice manual. Building attractive / eye catching displays and ensuring the department merchandising standards invite purchases through attention to detail.  Manage the layout of the department to maximize stock visibility to enhance sales potential.
• Assist in stock counts where required.
• Lead the Grocery staffing team to success which includes and not restricted to assisting in recruiting, department induction and ongoing trainings, put in place initiatives to assist in retention of staff, complete performance appraisals and manage leave.
• Support the department in complying with our food control plan and health and safety programme
• Contribute to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the store through input to the senior team and active participation and support of department and store wide initiatives

Here is what you NEED to be considered:

• Experience as a Supervisor in FMCG is a MUST!
• A clear understanding of SAP as an operating platform and to a basic functional level.
• Proven ability in running an effective team
• Good basic math skills
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels
• Hold a clean drivers license
• Right to work In New Zealand
