GROCERY MANAGER

The Role:

  • This role reports to the Floor Manager and will provide leadership to the Grocery Team
  • Create, drive and deliver customer experiences worth driving past the competition for
  • Carry out the operational execution of our grocery department
  • Provide the team with an awesome place to work, with a focus on productivity, engagement, wellbeing and pride in what we do in line with our store values
  • Build and maintain great working relationships with the management team, reps, merchandisers and the wider store team

What we are looking for:

  • This is a hands-on role - so you will need to roll up your sleeves and get amongst it on the shop floor
  • Flexibility to work openly and collaboratively with other departments to best utilise staffing and other resources
  • Logical operation thinking, reasoning and problem solving
  • Demonstrated leadership capability - we have 30 plus people in the team
  • Sound skills in performance coaching, training and development of people
  • 3-5 years' experience in large format retail businesses (FMCG) in a Department Manager or 2IC role and looking for further growth and development
  • SAP knowledge
  • Forklift license and F endorsement - current or able to gain this
  • As this role involves acting as a Duty Manager - a first aid cert and GM certificate would need to be obtained
  • Exposure to managing budgets and meeting targets, rostering, reporting
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts depending on the needs of your department - this will be a Tuesday to Saturday shift pattern 4am to 2pm
