At New World Te Kauwhata, we are committed to providing our customers with quality products and outstanding service. We are looking for a motivated and reliable Grocery Assistant / Online Delivery Driver to join our team and play an important role in delivering a great shopping experience from the store to our customers’ doors.

This is a Full-time position, with shifts including one weekend day.

About the role

As a Grocery Assistant / Online Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and safely delivering orders to customers at their homes or designated addresses.

During your shift, you can expect to:

• Load and transport grocery orders safely.
• Deliver shopping orders to customers within the required timeframes.
• Navigate driveways, hills, stairs and other access areas to safely deliver orders to customers’ doors.
• Communicate professionally and courteously with customers regarding their orders.
• Assist customers with product enquiries and provide helpful recommendations when required.
• Regularly lift up to 15kg, as well as bend, reach and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
• Maintain a high standard of health, safety, cleanliness and customer service at all times.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who has:

• A positive, focused and “can-do” attitude.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Good geographical knowledge of the surrounding area.
• The ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• A reliable and responsible approach to work.
• A full Class 1 driver's licence.
• The ability to safely lift up to 15kg and carry out the physical requirements of the role.
