Grocery Supervisor



Are you a natural leader with a passion for people, productivity, and great customer service? We’re looking for a motivated Grocery Supervisor to join our team and help drive excellence in our Grocery department.

 

About the Role

As a Grocery Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in leading and supporting our team to deliver outstanding store standards and customer experiences every day. You’ll work closely with the Dry Good Manager/Duty Manager to keep things running smoothly, efficiently, and safely.

 

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

 

  • Support day-to-day running of the Grocery department
  • Ensure shelves are well-stocked and presentation standards are high
  • Help prioritise workloads to maximise productivity
  • Assist customers with queries and provide excellent service
  • Support other departments when needed
Team Leadership

 

  • Motivate, guide, and support team members
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new staff
  • Provide constructive feedback and help grow team capability
  • Lead by example and foster a positive team culture
Compliance & Safety

 

  • Uphold food safety, health & safety, and store policies
  • Ensure team members follow all procedures and guidelines

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask
  • Physically fit and able to handle a hands-on role
  • Previous customer service or retail experience
  • Good communication and basic maths skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Experience in food retail (preferred but not essential)

About You

You’re someone who:
  • Previous supermarket experience is essential
  • Minimum one year of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Physically fit and comfortable handling stock and working across departments

  • Available to work late nights and weekends
