New World Milford is seeking a motivated, organised, and hands-on Head Storeman to lead our storeroom operations and ensure the safe and efficient flow of stock throughout the store.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced storeroom professional who takes pride in maintaining high operational standards, leading by example, and ensuring stock is received, stored, and distributed safely and accurately. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting store operations, maintaining compliance standards, and driving a safe and productive working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee the receiving, checking, and processing of all stock deliveries.
- Coordinate the safe and efficient unloading of deliveries while maintaining Health & Safety standards.
- Ensure temperature-sensitive products are checked on arrival and that all required temperature records are completed accurately and in accordance with Food Safety requirements.
- Accurately check, receipt, and allocate stock to the correct departments.
- Prioritise promotional, chilled, frozen, and perishable stock to ensure timely availability for sale.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe storeroom environment.
- Ensure stock is stored correctly and rotated appropriately to minimise waste and stock loss.
- Monitor and control stock handling processes to support store cost and wastage targets.
- Process supplier claims, credits, and damaged stock documentation accurately and promptly.
- Maintain effective communication with store departments regarding deliveries and stock-related issues.
- Conduct regular safety checks on forklifts, pallet jacks, and racking, reporting any issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, Food Safety, and store operational requirements.
- Supervise storeroom operations and promote a positive safety culture within the team.
What We're Looking For
The successful applicant will have:
- Previous experience in a storeroom, logistics, warehouse, FMCG, or supermarket environment.
- A current Forklift Licence is required.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- The ability to work independently and lead by example.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to Health & Safety and Food Safety compliance.
- SAP experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
