Inwards Goods Assistant

We are looking for a reliable Inward Goods Assistant to join our team in Manukau. In this role, you’ll be the gatekeeper of our inventory, ensuring that every delivery is accounted for, stored safely, and processed with precision.

You will support the Inward Goods Supervisor in managing the daily flow of stock. From the moment a truck arrives at the back door to the moment stock hits the floor, you’ll ensure the process is seamless, safe, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

• Stock Management: Efficiently unload deliveries, mark off stock against manifests, and ensure accurate rotation and placement.
• Quality Control: Check for damages or shortages and process supplier credit claims in a timely manner.
• Safety & Compliance: Maintain a high standard of OSH compliance, including regular checks on forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Security: Manage the security of the rear door and ensure no unauthorized access to the warehouse area.
• Operational Excellence: Prioritise perishable and promotional goods, maintain a spotless workspace, and assist with stock takes.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for a team player who is physically fit and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Requirements

• Current Forklift License (Mandatory).
• Experience: 1–2 years in a storeroom or Inwards Goods role (Retail/Wholesale preferred).
• Technical Skills: Experience with RF Scanners and EWM software.
• Communication: Fluent written and spoken English with solid basic math skills.
• Attributes: A keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to build relationships with drivers and suppliers.

Bonus Points for

• Experience in the FMCG or Fresh Food industry.
• A clean Driver’s License.
• The ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively.
