New World Point Chevalier - Produce Assistant (Early Morning)

We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Produce Assistant to join our team, with a key focus on our early-morning Produce deliveries.

This role starts bright and early at 2:00am, so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable working independently in the early hours and can safely manage the arrival, unloading and movement of our Produce deliveries before the store gets busy.

Wednesday 2:00am–10:00am

Saturday 2:00am–10:00am

The Role

This is a hands-on role combining Inwards Goods, forklift operation, stock movement and Produce replenishment. 

You’ll be responsible for:

• Receiving our early-morning Produce deliveries into store.
• Safely loading and unloading delivery vehicles.
• Operating a forklift to unload, move and position pallets and stock.
• Checking deliveries and ensuring stock is moved into the correct storage areas.
• Keeping delivery, loading and storage areas organised, clean and safe.
• Replenishing Produce stock onto the shop floor.
• Rotating stock correctly and maintaining freshness and quality.
• Keeping displays full, tidy and well-presented.
• Identifying and reporting damaged stock, quality issues or delivery discrepancies.
• Following all Food Safety, Safety & Wellbeing and store procedures.
• Supporting the wider Produce team to have the department ready for our customers.

What We’re Looking For

The early start and delivery responsibilities are a big part of this position, so we need someone who is reliable, confident and comfortable taking ownership of the job.

You’ll be:

• Forklift certified and confident operating a forklift safely.
• Available and willing to consistently start work at 2:00am on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
• Comfortable loading and unloading deliveries and moving pallets.
• Reliable – particularly given the early start and responsibility for receiving deliveries.
• Physically fit and comfortable with lifting, moving and handling Produce stock.
• Organised and able to work efficiently without constant supervision.
• Safety conscious and confident working around vehicles, pallets and equipment.
• A good team player with clear communication skills.
• Someone who takes pride in freshness, quality and presentation.
• Previous supermarket, Produce, warehousing, Inwards Goods or stock handling experience would be advantageous.
• You must have the current right to work in New Zealand.
