Operations Manager – New World Browns Bay

As we continue to strengthen our approach to stock management, availability, and operational excellence, we are looking for a motivated and energetic Operations Manager to join our leadership team.

This is an exciting hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strong operational delivery with excellent stock management disciplines, while working collaboratively across teams to drive performance.

About the Role

As Operations Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the store, working across our storeroom, grocery, chilled, frozen and liquor departments to ensure efficient stock flow from suppliers through to shelf.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining high levels of product availability, supporting replenishment processes, and helping deliver key store initiatives that enhance both efficiency and customer experience.

This is a full-time position (45 hours per week), with early starts at 5am. Our standard roster is Tuesday through Saturday, with some flexibility required as part of a leadership role in a 7-day trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support daily store operations across Storeroom, Grocery, Chilled, Frozen, and Liquor
  • Work alongside Buying and Inventory teams to ensure strong stock availability and presentation standards
  • Execute category plans, promotions, and seasonal events to a high standard
  • Support and influence replenishment strategies to maximise on-shelf availability
  • Monitor stock flow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste
  • Maintain strong inventory accuracy and support best-practice stock management processes
  • Assist with implementing and refining automated replenishment systems
  • Use data and reporting to identify trends, solve problems, and improve performance
  • Coach and develop team members to build a positive, high-performing culture
  • Ensure the store is customer-ready at all times

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who:

  • Has proven leadership experience within a supermarket or retail environment
  • Has a strong understanding of stock management, replenishment, and inventory control
  • Is confident working with SAP or similar systems and understands their impact on performance
  • Has experience with automated ordering or replenishment tools
  • Understands the importance of accurate inventory in delivering great customer outcomes
  • Is comfortable analysing data and using insights to drive decisions
  • Builds strong relationships and works collaboratively across teams
  • Can balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution
  • Is passionate about developing people and leading teams
  • Thrives in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Is looking for the next step in their career and a desire to be developed towards a Store Manager role.
