Overnight Store Manager – Night Team

9:00pm – 7:00am | Overnight position

 

Are you an experienced night shift leader who enjoys taking charge?

We’re looking for a reliable, experienced and hardworking Overnight Manager to lead our night team at New World Te Atatu.

 

This is a great opportunity for someone who has worked nights before, knows how to lead a team, and takes pride in leaving a store looking fantastic for the morning team and our customers.

You’ll be the senior person in the building overnight, responsible for making sure everything gets done safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

 

What you'll be running

From 9:00pm, you'll take over from the afternoon Duty Manager and lead the overnight operation through until 7:00am.

 

Your team will cover:

 

• Grocery nightfill and replenishment

   

   

• Chilled and frozen replenishment

   

   

• Bakery production (you dont need to know anything about a bakery, just be in the building whike the bakers are baking)

   

   

• Deli production, including a chef preparing fresh food (again you are the store manager, you wont be working in the deli)

   

   

• Potentially fresh produce preparation, including cut fruit

   

   

• Cleaning, presentation and getting the store ready for the morning (you have a team on cleaners onsite that you need to oversee alongside the cleaning manager)

   

   

You'll be responsible for allocating the work, keeping everyone moving and making sure the team finishes the night strongly.

 

 

We're looking for a leader

We're not looking for someone who simply tells people what to do.

 

We're looking for someone who leads from the front.

Someone who is calm under pressure, treats people well, sets clear expectations and isn't afraid to get stuck in when the team needs a hand.

You'll need to be:

 

• A strong and experienced people leader

   

   

• Experienced working overnight or nightfill shifts

   

   

• Organised and able to prioritise

   

   

• Reliable and dependable

   

   

• Confident making decisions on your own

   

   

• Comfortable managing a diverse team

   

   

• Strong on health & safety and food safety

   

   

• Good at communicating and giving clear direction

   

   

• Physically and mentally comfortable working 9:00pm–7:00am

   

   

• Someone who takes pride in standards and presentation

   

   

New Zealand experience isn't essential
