PAK'nSAVE Ormiston Butchery Assistant
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing, cutting, packing, and displaying meat products under the guidance of the Butchery Manager.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety, including correct handling, storage, and cleaning practices.
- Ensure cabinets, counters, and displays are stocked, rotated, and presented to company standards.
- Provide friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable service to customers.
- Assist with receiving, checking, and storing deliveries to ensure stock accuracy.
- Support the team with daily cleaning and sanitising of equipment, tools, and work areas.
- Follow health & safety requirements and company policies at all times.
- Assist with stocktaking and minimising wastage.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety.
- Willingness to learn butchery techniques and product knowledge.
- Ability to work in a cold, fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy products safely.
- Flexible and reliable with working hours.
Experience
- Previous experience in a butchery, supermarket, or food handling role is an advantage but not essential.
- On-the-job training will be provided.
