Checkout Operator / Online Assistant

Location: New World Ormiston
Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time (Rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays)

 

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated, reliable, and customer-focused team member to join our Checkout and Online team.

 

This is a varied role where you'll provide excellent customer service at the checkout while also assisting with our online shopping operation by picking and packing customer orders accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

 

 

Checkout Duties

 

 

     

     

  •  

    Deliver friendly and professional customer service.

     

  •  

     

  •  

    Accurately scan and process customer purchases.

     

  •  

     

  •  

    Handle cash, EFTPOS, and other payment methods.

     

  •  

     

  •  

    Assist customers with enquiries and resolve basic issues.

     

  •  

     

  •  

    Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-presented checkout area.

     

  •  

     

  •  

    Follow store procedures for age-restricted products and cash handling.

     

  •  

     

  •  

    Work as part of the team to ensure efficient front-end operations.

     

  •  

     

 

 

Online Assistant Duties

 

 

     

     

  •  

    Pick customer orders accurately and efficiently.

     

  •  

     

  •  

    Carefully pack groceries to ensure products arrive in excellent condition.

     

  •  

     

  •  

    Select fresh produce, meat, and chilled items to the highest quality standards.

     

  •  

     

  •  

    Meet order deadlines and delivery timeframes.

     

  •  

     

  •  

    Communicate with supervisors regarding unavailable items or substitutions.

     

  •  

     

  •  

    Maintain food safety and hygiene standards.

     

  •  

     

  •  

    Assist with loading orders for collection or delivery.

     

  •  

     

  •  

    Help maintain a clean and organised online department.

     

  •
