People and Performance Coordinator

At PAK'nSAVE Tamatea, our people are at the heart of what we do. We're looking for a motivated and organised People & Performance Coordinator to join our team and play an important role in supporting our people, leaders and wider People & Performance function.

This is a varied role where no two days will be the same. You'll take ownership of key people processes including recruitment, inductions, employee recognition and payroll support, while also getting involved across a range of other People & Performance initiatives.

We're looking for someone who is organised, approachable and enjoys working with people. Someone who brings the right attitude, strong communication skills and a genuine interest in people.

About the role:

Reporting to the People & Performance Manager, you'll help ensure our people processes run smoothly and our team members have a positive experience throughout their time with us.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating recruitment from advertising and applications through to offers and pre-employment checks.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for all new team members during induction and onboarding.
  • Managing team uniforms and employee recognition initiatives.
  • Supporting payroll processes and resolving payroll-related queries.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and people information.
  • Supporting managers with employment agreements and key people processes.
  • Assisting with absence, wellbeing, performance and learning initiatives.
  • Supporting internal communications, employee engagement and people projects.
  • Preparing people reports and providing wider support across the People & Performance function.

About you:

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and takes pride in being organised, reliable and approachable.

You might already have experience in HR, People & Performance or a similar coordination role, or you could be a recent graduate looking to start your HR career. We're open to different backgrounds — what matters most is that you have the right skills, attitude and willingness to learn.

 You'll bring:

  • Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • A high level of confidentiality, integrity and trustworthiness.
  • A friendly and approachable nature, with the confidence to build relationships across all levels.
  • The ability to adapt quickly and work effectively in a busy environment.
  • A genuine interest in people and creating a positive employee experience.
  • Strong computer and systems skills, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • A tertiary qualification in HR or equivalent experience within HR is preferred.

 What we offer:

  • 30-40 hours per week in a varied role with exposure to all areas of People & Performance.
  • The opportunity to build your HR career in a busy and diverse business.
  • A supportive team committed to your development and success.
  • The opportunity to work closely with leaders and make a genuine difference to our people.
  • A dynamic workplace where every day brings something different.
