Produce 2IC

Are you passionate about fresh food and great customer service? We’re looking for a motivated Produce 2IC to support the Produce Manager in the day-to-day running of the department, ensuring high standards of product quality, presentation, availability, and team performance. You will take ownership of the department in the manager's absence and help drive strong customer service and sales results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the produce team to deliver excellent service and presentation.
• Ensure stock levels, quality, and freshness meet company standards.
• Monitor and manage department budgets, wastage, and ordering.
• Train and develop team members to maintain high performance.
• Maintain compliance with food safety and health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with store leadership to drive sales and promotions.

About You:

• Previous experience in produce or supermarket retail (management experience preferred).
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Passion for fresh food and customer satisfaction.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures.

The role is for 40 hours per week, working Tuesday - Saturday 05.00-13.30. You must be physically fit as there is manual handling involved in the role. You must also be comfortable being in a chiller. Experience on a forklift is an advantage, or the willingness to train and obtain a forklift license is needed.
