PAK'nSAVE Wairau Road is looking for an experienced and motivated Produce 2IC (Second-in-Charge) to join our fast-paced and high-performing Produce team.

About the Role

As the Produce 2IC, you will work closely with the Produce Manager to help oversee the day-to-day operations of the department. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the department is well presented, fully stocked, efficiently run, and delivering the highest level of customer service.

You’ll lead by example on the shop floor and support the wider Produce team to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the overall management of the Produce Department
  
• Maintaining high standards of presentation, freshness, cleanliness, and food safety
  
• Ensuring stock is rotated correctly and wastage is minimised
  
• Ordering, merchandising, and replenishing stock
  
• Supporting staff training, development, and performance
  
• Leading shifts and supervising the team in the absence of the Produce Manager
  
• Delivering outstanding customer service and resolving customer queries professionally
  
• Monitoring sales, productivity, and department targets
  
• Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
  
• Helping create attractive produce displays that maximise sales and customer appeal

   

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous supermarket or retail produce experience
  
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  
• Strong work ethic and a hands-on attitude
  
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
  
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  
• High attention to detail and pride in presentation standards
  
• A strong understanding of stock control and merchandising
  
• Reliability, punctuality, and flexibility with working hours
  
• Physical fitness and ability to lift, move, and work on your feet throughout the day
