Produce Assistant Manager - 2IC

We’re excited to announce that New World Mount Albert will be rejoining the community later this year!  With a brand-new store, fresh fit-out and wide offering across grocery, butchery, deli, bakery, produce and liquor, we can’t wait to open our doors again to the Mount Albert community.

Our opening date is set for August 2024 we are seeking a Produce Assistant Manager (2IC) to join the team. You’ll play a key part in our journey towards a successful store opening and continuously deliver an awesome shopping experience for our community. 

As Produce Assistant Manager (2IC) you will:

• Report into the Produce Manager, helping to ensure department targets and operational delivery standards are met or exceeded.
• Assist with ordering and buying for the Produce department, making sure range matches the format and customer requirements.
• Ensure the department is full, fresh and appealing throughout the hours of trade and that stock levels are controlled appropriately.
• Deputise for the Produce Manager as required.
• Ensure staff are well trained and motivated to provide the best shopping experience for our customers.

What we’re looking for:

• Has a passion for fresh produce and a good eye for quality and presentation.
• Previous experience in produce departments is advantageous.
• Exposure to fresh buying and ordering.
• Is computer literate and keen to learn and use the latest technology. 
• Has great people skills and the ability to lead a small team. 
• Has proven customer service experience.
• Forklift license advantageous.
