New World Pukekohe is looking for a reliable, hardworking Produce Assistant to join our team!

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in keeping our Produce Department fresh, full, clean and looking fantastic. From ensuring our fruit and vegetables are beautifully presented to maintaining quality and availability throughout the day, you’ll play an important role in delivering an outstanding shopping experience for our customers.

 

What will you be doing?

• Replenishing and maintaining fruit and vegetable displays to ensure the department is always well-stocked and presented to a high standard.

   

   

• Checking the quality and freshness of produce, removing any products that do not meet our standards.

   

   

• Rotating stock correctly to maintain freshness and minimise waste.

   

   

• Receiving, moving and handling deliveries, including lifting crates weighing up to 20kg.

   

   

• Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised department.

   

   

• Ensuring stock is displayed attractively and pricing and signage are accurate.

   

   

• Providing friendly, helpful customer service and assisting customers with their queries.

   

   

• Working collaboratively with the wider team to ensure the department operates efficiently and meets daily expectations.

   

   

What are we looking for?

We’re after someone with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a genuine commitment to quality.

 

Ideally, you will have:

 

• A great eye for detail and pride in maintaining high presentation standards.

   

   

• An interest in fresh food, fruit and vegetables.

   

   

• The physical fitness required for a hands-on role involving lifting crates up to 20kg, standing for extended periods and regular manual handling.

   

   

• A reliable and hardworking approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

   

   

• A strong focus on customer service and creating a positive shopping experience.

   

   

• The ability to work efficiently in a busy retail environment.

   

   

• Flexibility to pick up additional shifts when required, which would be a definite advantage.

   

   

Previous supermarket or fresh produce experience would be beneficial, but a great attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are just as important!

 

 

The role

• Location: New World Pukekohe

   

   

• Hours: 28 hours per week

   

   

• Roster: Friday, Saturday and Monday

   

   

• Additional flexibility: The ability to pick up extra shifts when needed would be an advantage.
