Produce Assistant


A great opportunity has come available to join and work alongside a friendly and welcoming team as a Full Time Produce Assistant.  This role offers a great store culture, full training and a commitment to ongoing training and learning.

As a Produce Assistant, your primary responsibility is to ensure the produce area is consistently well-stocked, clean, and attractively presented for our customers.

Our customers are our top priority, so you'll play a key role in delivering an exceptional shopping experience. This includes rotating stock appropriately, conducting regular temperature checks, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with customer inquiries.

 Your duties will include:

  • Replenishing stock neatly and efficiently while also checking the quality of the produce.
  • Presenting produce so it is accessible and looks great.
  • Adhering to all Food Safety and Health and Safety standards as required by Foodstuffs North Island.
  • Assisting in the setup of the produce department.
  • Helping and assisting customers on the shop floor – making sure they have an amazing shopping experience with us!
  • Cleaning of the department.
 Here is what you will need:
  •  Should be physically fit for lifting and moving of heavy crates of fruit and vegetables.
  •  A fantastic work ethic.
  •  Excellent customer service skills.
  •  Great presentation skills and attention to detail
  •  The ability to work independently and self-manage.
  •  A willingness to learn about fruits and vegetables!
