Produce Manager

As our Produce Manager, you are the gatekeeper of freshness. You’ll lead a critical department that supplies everyone from local cafés and restaurants to schools and caterers.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands that in the wholesale world, quality and consistency are what keep our members coming back. You’ll be responsible for the full lifecycle of our fresh range - from negotiating with suppliers and managing high-volume inventory to ensuring our Cash 'n Carry floor looks world-class.

What you’ll do

  • Inventory & Procurement: Manage large-scale ordering and stock rotation to ensure 100% freshness. You’ll maintain the delicate balance between ‘fully stocked’ and ‘zero waste.’
  • Quality Assurance: Rigorously inspect incoming shipments for grade, condition, and food safety compliance. If it’s not top tier, it doesn’t hit our floor.
  • Operational Leadership: Lead, train, and support the Produce team.
  • Client Relations: Act as a subject matter expert for commercial buyers, providing updates on seasonal availability and market fluctuations.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience: 3+ years in produce management, ideally in a wholesale, warehouse, or high-volume grocery environment.
  • The ‘Produce Eye’: Deep knowledge of seasonal cycles, grading standards, and ripening processes.
  • Operational Grit: Experience operating forklifts or pallet jacks and the ability to work in cold-storage environments.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency with inventory management software and basic data analysis.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 20kgs, remain active on the floor for the duration of your shift and the ability to work in cold-storage environments.
