At New World Papatoetoe, we're passionate about providing our customers with the freshest produce, outstanding value, and excellent service. We're looking for an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Produce Manager to lead one of our key departments and inspire a high-performing team.

About the Role

As Produce Manager, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the Produce Department. You'll lead your team by example, ensuring our department is well-stocked, visually appealing, and delivers the highest standards of quality and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, motivate, and develop the Produce team.
• Maintain exceptional standards of freshness, quality, merchandising, and presentation.
• Manage ordering, inventory, stock rotation, and waste to maximise freshness and profitability.
• Drive sales, productivity, and departmental performance.
• Prepare rosters, support recruitment, and manage team performance.
• Ensure all food safety, health and safety, and compliance requirements are met.
• Work collaboratively with suppliers and other departments to maintain excellent stock availability.
• Deliver an outstanding shopping experience through exceptional customer service.

About You

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

• Previous leadership experience within supermarkets, fresh foods, produce, or FMCG.
• Strong leadership and people development skills.
• A passion for fresh produce and delivering quality every day.
• Experience managing sales, stock control, waste, and productivity.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
• The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment.
• A positive attitude with a hands-on approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
