QUALIFIED BUTCHER
PAK'nSAVE Mangere is seeking an experienced and motivated Qualified Butcher to join our busy and growing Butchery Department.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled butcher who takes pride in quality workmanship, production efficiency, carcass utilisation, customer service, and maintaining high food safety standards.
Roster:
- Full-Time Position,
- Sunday to Thursday,
- Fridays and Saturdays Off,
- Approximately 45 hours per week.
About the Role
Reporting to the Butchery Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring the department delivers high-quality products, strong production output, excellent carcass utilisation, and an outstanding shopping experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Breaking down and processing beef, lamb, and pork carcasses.
- Full carcass boning and preparation of retail-ready cuts.
- Maximising carcass yield, recovery, and production efficiency.
- Producing high-quality meat cuts and value-added products.
- Preparing customer orders and maintaining presentation standards.
- Assisting with production (e.g. Mince, Sausages, etc.,) planning and stock management.
- Maintaining food safety, health and safety, and company compliance standards.
- Supporting the wider Butchery team to achieve department goals.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualified Butcher or extensive butchery experience.
- Strong carcass boning, cutting, and knife skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently.
- Proven ability to maximise carcass utilisation and minimise waste.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Reliable, physically fit, and capable of performing the full duties and inherent requirements of a retail butcher role.
- Positive attitude and strong team player.
