Retail Loss Prevention Assistant - Part Time

We have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Loss Prevention Assistant to join our team. The safety, security, and wellbeing of our customers, staff are our top priorities, and we are seeking a professional, and security‑minded individual to help us uphold these standards. In this role, you will be highly visible on the shop floor, acting as a reassuring presence and the first point of contact for both staff and customers when assistance is required. You will play a key role in preventing loss, deterring theft, and responding quickly to security incidents. Successful candidates will be trained on all emergency scenarios and first aid as part of the role. Depending on the needs of the store, you may also be required to carry out additional security duties such as door guarding and monitoring store entry and exit points. When no security or loss prevention presence is needed then additional retail tasks will be a required part of the role.

The hours & days for these positions are:

• Thursday to Saturday - 10:00am - 8:30pm (28.5 hours per week)

Store operations as part of this role may include;

• Serving customers
• Helping with stock movement in the Inwards Goods Department using pallet jacks and forklifts
• Ensuring pricing and ticketing is correct
• Stocking shelves/displays in relevant Department - merchandising fruit, meat, hot chickens, bread, milk, ice cream, grocery items
• Personal Shopping for Click & Collect
• Collecting customer trolleys

Security operations as part of this role may include;

• Deliver outstanding customer service, assisting with queries, directions, and upholding a safe store environment.
• Respond quickly, calmly, and professionally to incidents or emergencies, using clear communication to de-escalate situations where needed.
• Collaborate effectively with store leadership, store staff, and emergency services as needed
• Identifying and deterring suspicious behaviour
• Removing opportunities for theft
• Ensuring a safe and secure store environment
