Retail Operations Assistant Manager (Nights)
Dreaming of your next big career move within retail? PAK'nSAVE Tamatea has an exciting opportunity for a driven, people-focused and operationally strong Retail Operations Assistant Manager to join our team.
Reporting to the Night Operations Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to lead and motivate our night operations crew, ensuring the store is set up for success each day. This is a full-time 40-hour position, working four consecutive days — Wednesday to Saturday, 5:30pm to 4:00am, giving you three days off in a row to enjoy a balanced lifestyle.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day store operations, ensuring excellent execution and consistently high customer standards
- Leading, coaching and developing the Operations team to bring out their best
- Maintaining efficient and effective rosters, ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time
- Managing and reporting on department costs and results, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence
Ideally, you will bring:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in FMCG, retail, wholesale or supermarket environments
- Management experience equivalent to Department Assistant Manager level
- A passion for lifting team performance, mentoring others and achieving both business and personal development goals
- Strong numerical understanding and an analytical mindset
- High levels of organisation, adaptability, accountability and a solutions-focused approach
- The ability to multi-task and manage several key operational areas simultaneously
- Flexibility to work varying hours if required
- Ideally, forklift experience with an ‘F’ endorsement and/or OSH certification
- Solid computer literacy
