Scannables assistant

New World Pioneer is a large, locally owned and operated supermarket in Palmerston North. We employ a team of 200+ who pride themselves on delivering exceptional customer service.

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Part-Time Scannables Assistant to join our team. This is an evening role working across Grocery, Chilled & Frozen, and Liquor, and would suit a student or someone looking for part-time evening work.

 

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for keeping our departments well stocked, organised and presented to a high standard. Your duties will include:

 

• Filling and replenishing stock across Grocery, Chilled & Frozen and Liquor
• Stock rotation and maintaining product quality
• Keeping shelves and displays well presented
• Working efficiently to complete evening fill
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment
• Providing friendly customer service when required
• Working as part of a busy and supportive team

 

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

 

• Reliable and punctual
• Physically fit and comfortable being on your feet
• Able to work efficiently and independently
• Organised with good attention to detail
• Friendly and customer focused
• A team player with a positive attitude
• Available to work late evening shifts

 

Your own reliable transport is essential, as these shifts finish late and public transport may not be available.

 

Previous supermarket or retail experience is an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right person.

 

Hours of Work

Tuesday: 6:00pm – 10:00pm
Wednesday: 6:00pm – 10:00pm
Friday: 5:00pm – 10:30pm
Sunday: 5:00pm – 10:30pm
