Seafood 2IC
Clarence Street Pak n Save (Hamilton) is seeking an energetic and passionate customer-centric champion to help lead our successful Seafood team.
This vacancy is a full-time, permanent position. Usual days of work will be Tuesday to Saturday, but this position requires some flexibility with availability.
This is a hands-on role in a physical department, suiting an experienced people leader looking to take the next step, with the support and guidance of an experienced manager.
Key responsibilities:
- Able to complete all seafood department operational tasks – set up of cabinet display; end of shift pack down; scale, gut, dress and fillet fish; Deep Cleans, Inwards goods processing
- Manage stock by effective ordering, ranging of appropriate species and utilizing pricing strategies
- Order product – using forecasts and adjustments for sales and maintain inventory and invoicing via SAP – purchase orders, goods receipt, and processing of invoices
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation (incl. Labelling regulations, Food Safety and Fisheries Act)
- People management – providing a positive environment with clear and exciting challenges; effective rostering to ensure continuity during planned and unplanned leave, promotional and seasonal events
- Support and develop the seafood team to maximise dept sales, by ensuring that appropriate standards of freshness, display appearance, and service are maintained

Requirements
- Proven experience leading a successful team
- High level of self-awareness and strong ability to connect and communicate effectively with others
- Proven ability to complete tasks accurately, while following procedures precisely
- Strong time management and scheduling skills
- Intermediate level of computer skills (SAP experience a plus, but not essential)
- Physically Fit
- Good command of written and spoken English, and basic mathematics
- 12 months Supermarket experience (Fresh foods dept experience is a plus, but not essential)
