Seafood Manager

PAK'nSAVE Napier City is on the lookout for a motivated Seafood Manager to join our busy, customer-focused, and high-performing team. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong product knowledge, great people skills, and a passion for fresh food retail.

Hours of work:

• Tuesday - Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
• Friday & Saturday: 6:00am - 2:30pm

You will lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the Seafood Department, ensuring consistently high standards of food safety, quality, cleanliness and product presentation. This role is responsible for managing stock levels, ordering, waste control, and achieving gross profit targets, while training, coaching and supporting team members to perform at their best. You will deliver excellent customer service, confidently resolve customer queries, and ensure full compliance with all company policies, health and safety, and food safety regulations. On Fridays and Saturdays, you will also support the management and operation of the Service Deli team, including team supervision and maintaining high service standards.

What we are looking for:

• Proven leadership in seafood, deli or fresh food retail
• Demonstrated understanding of the financial aspects of running a department, including budgeting, stock control, margin management, waste minimisation, and achieving sales and gross profit targets
• Strong people leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, and motivate a team
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment
• A high standard of customer focus and service delivery
• Sound knowledge of food safety, health and safety and compliance requirements
