Service Deli & Seafood Assistant Manager

PAK'nSAVE Napier City is on the lookout for a motivated Service Deli & Seafood Assistant Manager to join our busy, customer-focused, and high-performing team. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong product knowledge, great people skills, and a passion for fresh food retail.

Hours of work:

Tuesday - Thursday 08.00-16.30, Friday - Saturday 06.00-14.30

As the Service Deli & Seafood Assistant Manager, you will support the day-to-day operation of the department, helping to deliver consistently high standards of food safety, product quality, merchandising, cleanliness, and customer service. Working alongside the Department Manager, you will assist with stock management, ordering, waste control, rostering, and achieving sales and gross profit targets. You'll play a key role in leading, coaching, and developing the team while ensuring compliance with all food safety, health and safety, and company policies.

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience in Service Deli, Seafood, or Fresh Foods leadership role.
• Demonstrated understanding of the financial aspects of running a department, including budgeting, stock control, margin management, waste minimisation, and achieving sales and gross profit targets
• Strong people leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, and motivate a team
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment
• A high standard of customer focus and service delivery
• Sound knowledge of food safety, health and safety and compliance requirements
