Service Deli & Seafood Manager – New World Stratford

New World Stratford is on the lookout for an experienced foodie leader to take charge of our Service Deli & Seafood Department.

This is a key leadership role where you’ll motivate and develop a passionate team who take pride in delivering outstanding product quality and customer service every day.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring a consistent range of high-quality deli and seafood products is available at all times

   

   

• Continually improving and developing the product range to meet customer needs

   

   

• Managing ordering, stock control, stock takes, and shrinkage

   

   

• Directing, supervising, and supporting the department team

   

   

• Staff rostering and day-to-day management

   

   

• Maintaining exceptional merchandising and presentation standards

   

   

• Achieving department sales, GP, and financial targets

   

   

• Maintaining a safe and compliant work environment

   

   

• Building and maintaining a positive, high-performing team culture

   

   

• Ensuring all food safety and compliance requirements are met

   

   

• Training, developing, and supporting all department staff

   

   

• Maintaining recipes and allergen information to ensure customer safety

   

   

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous leadership or management experience in the food industry

   

   

• Supermarket or fresh foods experience preferred

   

   

• SAP experience within fresh foods departments

   

   

• Strong knowledge of food preparation (including Unit Standards 167 & 168)

   

   

• Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting

   

   

• Customer-focused with a passion for service

   

   

• Excellent communication skills and a strong team-player mindset

   

   

• Reliable, confident, and mature with a positive attitude

   

   

• Strong work ethic and ability to perform under pressure

   

   

• Adaptable to the seasonal demands of a busy retail environment

   

   

• Confidence in staff management, rostering, and cost control

   

   

• Solid understanding of GP and department costings

   

   

This role is ideal for someone who leads from the front, can “walk the talk,” and enjoys working alongside their team in a fast-paced environment. High presentation standards and a proactive, can-do attitude are essential.
