Service Deli Assistant Manager (2IC)

We are seeking a full-time dynamic and experienced Service Deli Assistant Manager (2IC) to join our team. As the 2IC, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the Service Deli Manager in the day-to-day operations of our Service Deli department. You'll contribute to delivering a positive shopping experience for our customers while ensuring operational excellence in the Service Deli section.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Service Deli Manager to oversee the Service Deli department's operations, including inventory management, staff supervision, and customer service.
- Provide leadership and support to the Service Deli department team members, fostering a culture of excellent customer service and teamwork.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and scheduling Service Deli department staff as needed.
- Monitor Service Deli inventory levels, assist with ordering, and ensure product availability and freshness.
- Manage Service Deli department merchandising and ensure that Service Deli displays are attractive and well-stocked.
- Handle customer inquiries and concerns regarding Service Deli products in a professional and friendly manner. Food Safety, you will need to be able to follow our Food Safety plan You will need to complete all required paperwork and follow all of the procedures included in the plan
- Housekeeping will be a big part of this role; our deli kitchen needs to be kept in a clean and hygienic state at all times
- Assist with administrative tasks and reporting related to the Service Deli department.
- Previous experience in a supermarket role is preferred, but not essential.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high Service Deli department standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and customer-oriented environment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Physically fit and able to fulfil the requirements of the role.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
