Are you passionate about fresh, high-quality food and delivering exceptional customer service? We are eager to welcome a dedicated and knowledgeable leader to our team as a Service Deli Assistant Manager. In this vibrant and dynamic role, you will work closely with the Deli Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Deli, ensuring that our valued customers receive top-tier products and a delightful shopping experience.

You’ll take ownership of key tasks—staff scheduling, food prep, inventory management, and team supervision—while playing a pivotal role in creating a collaborative, positive workplace. Your leadership will empower every team member to shine and help us achieve our mission of outstanding quality and service.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the management and daily operations of the Deli department
  • Ensure high-quality food production and presentation standards
  • Supervise and train deli staff, nurturing a culture of teamwork and continuous learning
  • Manage inventory and stock levels, ensuring optimal freshness and compliance
  • Assist with scheduling and rostering to ensure smooth coverage during busy periods
  • Champion health and safety standards, ensuring compliance and a safe environment for both staff and customers
  • Engage with customers, anticipate their needs, and build lasting relationships that keep them coming back
  • Utilise computer systems—including SAP—for accurate inventory management and clear reporting

About you

  • Have proven experience in a similar role within the fresh foods industry
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge and expertise in deli production and products
  • Be highly organised and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Exhibit excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop others
  • Be computer literate and comfortable using software systems to manage operations, including SAP
  • Exhibit outstanding customer service skills and a keen understanding of customer needs.
  • Be adaptable and calm under pressure, always ready to support the wider team and connect with customers.
