Service Deli Assistant

New World Pioneer is a large, locally owned and operated supermarket in Palmerston North. We employ a team of 200+ who pride themselves on delivering exceptional customer service.

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a part-time service deli assistant.

It’s a great role for students or anyone looking to gain valuable work experience while maintaining other commitments.

Part time Deli Assistant hours:

Wednesday- 4.00pm to 8.00pm

Sunday- 9.00am to 5.30pm

About the role:

As a Service Deli Assistant, you will:

• Provide friendly, efficient service to our customers
• Prepare, present, and maintain deli products to the highest standards
• Ensure food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards are always met
• Safely handle stock, including lifting items of up to 10kg
• Work as part of a supportive team in a fast-paced environment

What we’re looking for:

• A positive, reliable, and motivated attitude
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Flexibility to pick up additional shifts when required
• Previous deli, hospitality, or food-handling experience is an advantage, but not essential – full training provided
