Service deli assistant

New World Pioneer is a large, locally owned and operated supermarket in Palmerston North, with a team that prides itself on delivering exceptional customer service.

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a part-time service deli assistant.

It’s a great role for students or anyone looking to gain valuable work experience while maintaining other commitments.

Part time Deli Assistant hours:

Thursday- 4.00pm -8.00pm

Sunday 9.30am -6.00pm

As a Service Deli Assistant, you will:

Provide friendly, efficient service to our customers

Prepare, present, and maintain deli products to the highest standards

Ensure food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards are always met

Safely handle stock, including lifting items of up to 10kg

Work as part of a supportive team in a fast-paced environment

What we’re looking for:

A positive, reliable, and motivated attitude

Strong customer service and communication skills

Ability to work well in a team environment

Flexibility to pick up additional shifts when required

Previous deli, hospitality, or food-handling experience is an advantage, but not essential – full training provided
