Are you an experienced leader with a passion for fresh food, exceptional customer service, and team development? As our Deli Manager, you will take full responsibility for daily department operations, including staff training, scheduling, food preparation, inventory management, and performance oversight. Your leadership will set a positive example, drive excellence in quality and service, and foster a collaborative, high-performing environment where both your team and our customers thrive.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and manage all daily operations of the Deli department
  • Ensure high-quality food production and presentation standards
  • Supervise, mentor, and train deli staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous professional development
  • Manage inventory and stock levels, ensuring optimal freshness and compliance
  • Oversee scheduling and rostering to guarantee efficient coverage and optimal productivity
  • Establish, implement, and monitor health and safety standards to ensure full compliance and a safe working environment for all staff and customers
  • Engage with customers, anticipate their needs, and build lasting relationships that keep them coming back
  • Leverage computer systems, including SAP, for precise inventory control, reporting, and department analysis

About you

  • Have proven experience in a leadership/ management role within a fresh foods department or the food industry
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge and expertise in food production  and products
  • Be highly organised and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate outstanding leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate, inspire, and develop high-performing teams
  • Be computer literate and comfortable using software systems to manage operations, including SAP
  • Exhibit outstanding customer service skills and a keen understanding of customer needs.
  • Be adaptable and calm under pressure, always ready to support the wider team and connect with customers.
