Service Deli/Seafood 2IC

PAK'nSAVE Napier City is on the lookout for a motivated Service Deli / Seafood 2IC to join our busy, customer-focused, and high-performing team.

The role is ideal for an experienced department leader or someone who is already familiar with a Service Deli or Seafood department and ready to take the next step in their career, with a strong focus on developing their leadership capability.

Hours of work:

• Tuesday - Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
• Friday & Saturday: 6:00am - 2:30pm

As 2IC, you will work closely alongside the Department Manager, playing a key role in leading the team and supporting the day-to-day running of the Service Deli and Seafood Department. You will help drive strong financial results, maintain high operational standards, and deliver excellent customer service, while building the skills required to progress in your leadership journey.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting daily department operations and decision-making
• Leading, motivating and supporting the team in the Manager's absence
• Maintaining food safety, health & safety, and compliance standards
• Assisting with ordering, stock control, shrinkage reduction and margin performance
• Delivering outstanding customer service
• Coaching, training and developing team members to lift overall performance

You will have experience working in a Service Deli and/or Seafood department and either bring prior leadership experience or be ready to step up into a 2IC role. You are eager to grow your leadership skills, understand the importance of food safety, compliance, and financial performance, and consistently work to high standards. Reliable, organised, and a strong team player, you take pride in presentation, product quality and leading by example.
