Service Deli / Seafood Manager
New World Te Kuiti is looking for an experienced foodie to lead our Service Deli & Seafood team.
As a Service Deli & Seafood Manager, you'll be a key leader helping drive our committed and motivated teams who pride themselves on the quality products and service we offer.
Your Tasks will include:
- Ensuring a range of consistently high-quality products is available for our customers at all times.
- Constantly improving the range on offer to our customers
- Managing Ordering / Stock takes / Shrinkage
- Directing and supervising the team
- Rostering
- Maintaining the highest standard of merchandising
- Ensuring the sales / financial and other targets of the department are met
- Maintaining a safe work environment
- Creating and maintaining a great culture within the team
- Ensuring all Food Safety requirements are met.
- Team Building, development and training of all department staff
- Maintaining all recipes & allergens to ensure our customers are purchasing safe food.
What we are looking for:
- Previous management or leadership experience within the food industry
- Previous SAP experience in fresh foods departments
- Experience and working knowledge of food preparation. (Incl unit standards 167 & 168)
- Physical fitness with the ability to handle heavy lifting.
- Customer service driven – you will spend a lot of time helping our customers.
- Excellent communication skills and be a team player.
- Reliability with a positive attitude, confidence, and maturity.
- A strong work ethic, capable of performing well under pressure.
- Adaptability to meet the seasonal demands of a busy retail team.
- Confident to manage staff and rosters
- Understand costings / GPs
This role ideally suits an applicant who has previous supermarket or retail supervisory experience, has excellent communication skills and can "walk the talk" when leading their team, everybody works in the department together. You're a team player with high presentation standards, a "can do" attitude that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Hours of work will be discussed with the successful applicant and will include one weekend shift.
New World Te Kuiti is offering a high-end remuneration package. depending on experience may include a work vehicle and fuel card.
