Pak’n Save Kilbirnie is searching for an experienced Baker to join their successful Bakery Department. The role is ideal for candidates looking to move away from night work or those looking for work/life balance.

This roles requires you to get involved with all aspects of baking with a focus on Ovens and Dough.

You will be competent in the following tasks:

  • Making pastry and bread doughs.
  • Working the ovens, unloading, de-panning, cooling and racking products
  • Baking to the production schedule to ensure levels of bread, rolls and other bread products meet customer demand.
  • Baking, icing and decorating sweet products.
  • Producing other bakery specific products as required (e.g. scones, muffins, pies, pizzas, cookies etc.) 
  • Merchandising the product in the department and ensuring effective stock rotation through the monitoring of best before dates.
  • Receiving inwards goods.
  • Follow all procedures and policies related to Health and Safety, Food Safety and Labelling & Ticketing.
  • Cleaning and maintenance tasks where appropriate.
  • Undertake temperature checks.
  • Complete relevant documentation both digitally and on paper.

You will have the following experience and/or qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience on Oven and Dough sections
  • Physically fit and able to fulfil the roles requirements
  • Competent in basic maths
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Food Safety Qualifications such as NZQA 167 & 168
  • Trade Baking Qualifications/Certificates NZQA Level 3 or 4

 

Hours/Roster:

Hours per week: 34

Days per week: 4


Monday   5am – 2.30pm

Thursday   9am – 5.30pm

Friday   9am – 5.30pm

Sunday   5am – 2.30pm (weekend work is non-negotiable)
