Compliance Manager

We are looking for a Compliance Manager to join our awesome team at PAK'nSAVE Mill Street.

As our Compliance Manager, you'll play a key role in keeping the store operating safely, legally, and to the high standards our customers expect. You'll work across all departments to ensure food safety, health and safety, training, auditing, and regulatory requirements are met. This is a hands-on role where you'll spend time on the shop floor coaching teams, identifying risks, and helping managers turn policies into everyday practice.

You'll be someone who loves details, enjoys solving problems, and isn't afraid to ask questions when something doesn't look right. From conducting audits and maintaining compliance records to supporting investigations and driving continuous improvement, you'll help create a culture where doing the right thing is simply the way we work. Key responsibilities:

1. Ensure for all health & safety and food safety procedures and systems within the store that they are appropriately maintained at a level which ensures compliance in all audits.
2. Actively promote health and safety and food safety to all staff.
3. Liaise appropriately with external regulatory bodies and the Retail Support team within Foodstuffs to ensure all systems and processes are up to date and legally compliant and new initiatives are effectively implemented in the store. Ensure any changes to these programmes and processes are appropriately communicated to all staff.
4. Ensure regulatory compliance across all departments through the provision or reinforcement of appropriate training in conjunction with the Store Management Team.
5. Process applications for Forklift Proficiency Certificates.
6. Work with the Store Manager with respect to Building Warrant of Fitness (yearly).
7. Ensure all machinery and equipment is compliant.
8. Oversee compliance at our on-site fuel station, ensuring fuel operations meet all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
9. Proactively manage risk by regularly auditing store conditions and update hazard registers.
10. Undertake Quick investigation of accidents, which is crucial for compliance with WorkSafe reporting requirements.
11. Ensuring staff are properly trained, which is a specific legal duty for employers.
12. Facilitating Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and committees as required by law.
13. Undertake hazard reviews and investigate serious accidents. Follow up reports of H&S hazards in the store. Collect and collate accident forms.
14. Manage monthly committee meeting process for H&S.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• At least two years of relevant work experience or level 5 or above qualification.
• Computer literate
• FMCG experience
• Physically fit and able to fulfil the requirements of the role.
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Train the Trainer / HACCP Training
• Trained Assessor - Unit standard4098
• Unit standards 167, 168 and497
• Customer service experience
• Previous health &safety and food safety or compliance experience
• Great attention to detail and accuracy
• Confident communicator with a professional approach
• Ability to work independently and manage time
• Contribute positively to the team.
• Ability to work on weekends.

Monday - Friday 6am - 3:30pm
