Duty Manager
Four Square has been part of New Zealand communities for over 101 years, and here in Pirongia we’re proud to carry that legacy forward in our own way. We’re a busy, friendly, community-focused store where we know our regulars, look after our team, and take real pride in doing the basics well and consistently.
About the role
We’re looking for a Duty Manager to help keep the store running smoothly day-to-day. It’s a hands-on role where you’ll be supporting the team, keeping the store looking sharp, and making sure every customer gets genuinely good service.
What the role involves:
* Keeping all departments running well and jumping in where needed
* Merchandising and maintaining presentation standards
* Helping customers and solving small problems on the fly
* Closing the store securely and setting it up well for the next day
This isn’t a clipboard management role. You’ll be shoulder-to-shoulder with the team, leading by example.
About you
You’ll be someone who:
* Has high standards, especially around presentation and freshness
* Can stay calm under pressure and think quickly when needed
* Is comfortable stepping into any department to get things done
Requirements
* A current Manager’s Certificate is ideal, but if you’ve got at least six months retail experience, we’ll support you to get one
* Some leadership experience in retail (supermarket is a real advantage)
