PAK’nSAVE Rotorua is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Financial Manager to join our senior leadership team. This is a critical role focused on driving sales performance, maximising profitability, and ensuring strong financial and inventory discipline across the store.

About the Role

Reporting to the Store Manager, the Financial Manager is responsible for overseeing pricing integrity, inventory management, SAP metrics, and financial performance. You’ll work closely with Buyers, Department Managers, and the Owner Operator to ensure the store consistently meets sales, margin, cost, and compliance targets while delivering a superior customer experience. This is a full-time position with days and hours to be discussed at the interview.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth and profitability through strong financial control and analysis
  • Ensure 100% price integrity and effective management of promotional and pricing programmes
  • Lead inventory management processes, including stock control, receipting, credits, and stock takes
  • Analyse SAP and BI data to identify opportunities to increase sales and improve margins
  • Oversee office administration, banking processes, supplier accounts, and financial reporting
  • Manage weekly reporting and financial metrics for senior leadership
  • Lead and develop teams responsible for pricing, inventory, and financial administration
  • Ensure compliance with Foodstuffs policies, legislation, and pricing regulations
  • Support store initiatives, events, and strategic planning activities

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years’ management experience in a supermarket or similar environment
  • Strong financial acumen with confidence in analysis, forecasting, and commercial decision-making
  • Advanced competency in SAP and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex systems and processes
  • Flexible availability to meet the demands of a senior management role
  • Physically fit and capable of meeting role requirements

 

Desirable (but not essential)

  • General Manager’s Certificate
  • Unit Standard 497
  • Forklift licence
  • Clean driver’s licence
  • Understanding of the Fair Trading Act or supermarket pricing regulations
