PRODUCE MANAGER

At New World, we're committed to delivering the freshest produce, exceptional customer service, and an outstanding shopping experience for our customers. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Produce Manager to lead our Produce Department.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards while developing a high-performing team.

About the Role

As Produce Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Leading and motivating the Produce team to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Maintaining exceptional presentation, merchandising, and freshness standards.
• Managing ordering, inventory, and stock control using SAP.
• Achieving agreed sales, gross profit, wage, and departmental budget targets.
• Ensuring compliance with all food safety, health and safety, and company policies.
• Recruiting, training, coaching, and developing team members to achieve their full potential.
• Creating a positive team culture built on respect, accountability, and continuous improvement.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A minimum of three years' experience in a Produce Manager or senior Produce leadership role within a supermarket.
• Experience using SAP for ordering and inventory management.
• Excellent merchandising skills with a strong eye for detail and high presentation standards.
• A proven record of delivering strong commercial results and achieving departmental budgets and targets.
• Demonstrated success in leading, coaching, and developing staff through effective training and performance management.
• A sound understanding of good HR practices and experience managing people fairly and professionally.
• Outstanding communication, planning, and organisational skills.
• A reputation for honesty, integrity, reliability, and an exceptional work ethic.
• A passion for fresh food and providing outstanding customer experiences.
• Forklift licence F Endorsement.
